Growth Spiritually

Since coming to Mississippi College, I have grown in my walk with Christ. Where I came from in Georgia was a nice place, but there were not many strong Christian guys that I could talk to. Most of my friends went to church, but they also would use drugs and party a lot too. That just was not me. Warner Robins as a whole was like that. People went to church on Sunday, but would have a party Friday or Saturday. I do not want to make Warner Robins sound like a bad place, but this is the view that I got from living there. No one really talked about God or Jesus very much outside of church. It is very depressing, but this is just a fact.

My parents are both Christians and raised me and my brothers in a Christian home. This is why when I came to Mississippi College I feel that it was a perfect fit. No one looks at you like you are crazy if you talk about God or Jesus. They listen to and will give their own input as well. I enjoy this fact because it is rare to see this. It was a shock for me when I first got on campus because I was not used to be around so many Christians at one time. Being a Christian myself makes me glad to be able to speak to other Christians about their beliefs and views are on various topics.

In the past year, I have had a much more regular church attendance as well as making a habit of reading my Bible daily. I also have started to pray about absolutely anything and everything now which in the past I did not. This is why I am so happy I chose MC because I feel it has been instrumental in my spiritual growth. There are still things I need to work on with my walk with Christ and I know I will always have to improve, but I do feel like I will continue to grow thanks to the environment and people at Mississippi College.
